What the page says
While we were in Currajong my father came, this was towards the end of my stay at Richmond. He was heading on a trip back to Germany. We had him stay with us awhile and we eventually took him to the ship. He preferred to travel by steamship but this era was coming to an end. Father stayed quite a time in Germany perhaps with a view to even staying there permanently, but I can't say that definitely.

Interesting facts
Five weeks each way. The sea passage between Australia and Europe took four to five weeks. Air travel only overtook ships on this route during the 1960s, so a visit home meant the better part of three months.
