Interesting facts
What a Festschrift is. A volume printed for an anniversary and handed to guests, written from inside the institution. It is a genre with rules: generous about the family, warm about continuity, and silent about the quarrels.
Its own source, not an independent one. It was written from the family's papers and the town's records by a member of the family. Where it agrees with the family tree, the agreement proves nothing - the tree was built from it.
