So just before Christmas I started at Richmond Air Force Base. If you find your niche in the Air Force it is quite a good niche. It has a few problems with the military side coming in. We had people telling us to get things ready when they had some exercises coming on. They wanted the Hercs (Hercules) ready for transporting stuff over to the Suez Canal when all those things went on. We were pressed to work real hard to get things ready.

You moved every few years. A service family expected a posting roughly every two to three years, anywhere in the country. Where married quarters ran short they rented locally. The geography of this book is really the posting list.
