A life story dictated, not written. This was spoken onto tape and typed up, which is why it runs in long sentences, doubles back and answers questions you cannot hear. It reads as a person talking, because that is what it is.
The frontispiece was chosen by the family. He died four weeks before the book was printed, so the portrait, the aircraft and the line above them are their choices, not his.
